Echo Go
The Echo Go has a self cleaning setting.
- Press the button for 3 seconds initiates a 3-minute self cleaning cycle.
- The working indicator light will turn green, the positive and negative electrodes will be swapped, and the machine will enter the self-cleaning mode.
- This mode, which takes about 3 minutes, will create oxygen instead of hydrogen to kill bacteria.
- This water is NOT safe to drink.
Echo Go+
The Echo Go+ uses advanced technology that significantly enhances its cleaning process. It has a feature where every time you activate the bottle, the polarity of the electrodes reverses. This reversal prevents calcium and other mineral build-ups by not allowing them to settle, thus negating frequent manual cleaning cycles typically required. This means that the Echo Go+ only needs a regular cleaning about once a month compared to the more frequent cleaning required by other models.
If your Echo Go+ bottle needs to be cleaned, normal dish detergent can be used to clean by hand. Do not put your Echo Go+ in the dishwasher, and do not submerge in water. When hand washing avoid getting the generator electrical components and charging port wet.
Depending on the mineral content in your filtered water, you may need to clean the electrodes once or twice a month.
To descale:
- Add 1 part white vinegar, lemon juice, or citric acid and 3 parts water in the bottle
- Leave generator soaking in mix overnight.
