Yes! The Echo H2 machine comes with an internal filtration system. You will need to change the internal filter regularly. To do this, open the food on the back of the machine, push down on the top of the filter, and pull it out.
Our water machines, equipped with ANSI Standard 42 and KDF55 filter media, are designed to effectively filter our PFOS (Perfluorooctane Sulfonate) and PFAS (Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances) contaminants from your water.
A KDF55 (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) filter is a high-purity copper-zinc formulation used in water filtration. It primarily filters out the following contaminants:
- Chlorine: Removes chlorine and chloramines, commonly used as disinfectants in municipal water supplies.
- Heavy Metals: Reduces heavy metals such as lead, mercury, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals through a process known as redox (oxidation-reduction).
- Particulate Matter: Filters out various sizes of particulate matter (sediments, rust, dirt), categorized by Class I through Class VI, based on the size of the particles removed.
- Iron and Hydrogen Sulfide: Effective in removing iron and hydrogen sulfide, which can cause unpleasant tastes and odors.
- Microorganisms: Inhibits the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi within the filter media, reducing the risk of bacterial contamination.
- Taste and Odor: Enhances the taste and odor of water by removing contaminants that can cause unpleasant tastes and smells.
- Scale: Helps to control scale buildup, which can be beneficial for extending the life of plumbing fixtures and appliances.
