Don't hear the pressure release (hiss or pop sound) when opening the lid? NO WORRIES!
If the pressure release valve (located in the cap) is more rigid (which is common in new bottles), it causes a pressure release sound, or “popping" sound much like a carbonated drink upon opening. As the valve softens with use it becomes more efficient and so the pop sound will disappear. This may or may not be gradual depending on use. Lack of sound upon opening does not indicate that your bottle is defective, only that your bottle has become more successful at oxygen expulsion.
Our newer Go+ bottles have been redesigned for the pressure release valve to be even more efficient and you may only hear the pressure release for a short time (or not at all.) Rest assured, the hydrogen levels are not affected.
