Troubleshooting & Questions

If a customer has questions or needs assistance troubleshooting an issue with their Echo Product, your customer service team is encouraged to contact our support team at WholesaleSupport@echowater.com. Alternatively, you may direct customers to us for help with any product concerns or questions you are unable to address.

We recommend contacting our support team prior to processing returns or refunds, as many issues can be resolved without requiring a return. See the FAQs section below for common troubleshooting tips and answers.

Returns/Exchanges

For Products Fulfilled by You (Bulk Orders)

When a customer purchases an Echo Product from your company, they must follow your return policy and return the product to your store.

  • For defective items identified within 30 days, we encourage you to refer to the troubleshooting section before processing returns or exchanges. If it is determined the item is defective, please have your customer register and submit a warranty claim here.

For Products Fulfilled by Echo (Direct Website Orders)

Customers will still adhere to your return policy and return window. If you decided to accept your customers return, returns will be sent to the Echo Warehouse.

Reach out to WholesaleSupport@echowater.com with the following for the return label and refund you can send to your customer. You will then need to refund your customer.

  • the customer's first and last name
  • the customer's shipping address

Warranty

Regardless of whether the product was fulfilled by Echo or your company, any issues arising outside the return window due to manufacturing defects will be covered under our warranty.

Customers must register their product (here) and can file a warranty claim using the same link. Once a claim is submitted, Echo will handle the customer’s warranty needs directly.

FAQs  

Hydrogen Production / Bubbles 

Issues with Bubbles 

  • Larger Bubbles 

  • All Larger bubbles, no smaller bubbles.  

  • This may be a defect 

  • Mix of larger and smaller bubbles 

  • The small fine bubbles are hydrogen bubbles and are meant to be small. If you have some larger bubbles but still have the small bubbles, there is no need to worry - hydrogen is being produced. large air bubbles are normal and a byproduct of the process. 

  • Fewer Bubbles 

  • A few factors can impact the appearance or number of bubbles produced - however, these do not impact the PPM concentration. Have you done any of the following? 

  • Recently cleaned or rehydrated my device - we recommend running a few cycles after to get the electrodes moving again 

  • I've had a change in altitude, I’m using a different water type, or I've changed the water temperature used in the device 

  • None of the above 

  • Please keep in mind, the number of bubbles produced doesn't indicate the amount of PPM concentration.  

  • Never produced bubbles 

  • This may be a defect 

  • Stopped producing bubbles completely 

  • This may be a defect 

Issues with PPM Testing 

  • Explaining the different methods used for testing: 

  • Blue reagent: This method will only show that hydrogen is present in the water. Blue reagent is extremely hard to do correctly (water temp, dissolved solids, pH of water, altitude, how fast you stir - all are factors that will change the outcome)  

  • Also, If you have copper pipes and chloramine are present - you will not get an accurate test. 

  • Testing at a higher altitude - Your elevation will affect the PPM's so the higher they are, the lower the reading will be due to the atmospheric pressure (same as if in a plane) 

  • Electronic Meter: All these meters test the ORP (oxidation reduction potential) and convert that measurement to hydrogen PPM. These tests don't directly measure the molecules of hydrogen which results in an inaccurate reading to what we test (using a Gas Chromatograph, which is the most accurate measurement since it directly measures the molecules of Hydrogen 

  • Gas Chromatograph Instrument: This is the most accurate measurement as it directly measures the molecules of Hydrogen.  

  • If the results from using this method to test isn’t coming out accurate, it may be a defect 

Leaking 

Where is the leak coming from? 

  • Underneath the bottle: The bottles have an oxygen port (located on the bottom) built into the design to expel the oxygen. If you dropped the bottle or it has been joggled a lot in a bag, you may see some leaking from this area, simply just stand the bottle up and let it sit for a small time and the leak will stop as any trapped water dissipates. 

  • Between the bottle and the generator: 

  • When did it start? 

  • Recently: If the bottle is overtightened to the generator, it can cause a break in the seals. Please switch out the seals with the extra replacements we sent with the bottle. If you performed this step and still feel your device is defective, please upload a video showcasing the issue you are experiencing. 

  • Always leaked: Leaking may be present because the generator (bottom piece) isn't tightened enough, please make sure it is tight! The seal on the bottom may need to be replaced, please do so with the extra seals that were sent with your bottle. 

  • Between the cap and the bottle: Most the time, leaking is present due to the water is filled too full or the seals on your cap need to be replaced 

Taste / Odor 

Water source 

What water source are you using? 

  • What water source are you using? 

  • Needs to be RO, Distilled, Filtered – Bottled and well water may be used but can result in a higher mineral content resulting in a different taste/odor 

  • Using water with high mineral content may result in a different smell or taste.  

  • Have you tried using a different water source? 

Cleaning 

  • Build up can naturally occur on the electrodes, but depending on the water source you use, it can increase the frequency it needs to be cleaned (including cleaning the seal).  

  • Have you cleaned using 1 part vinegar, 3 parts water and let it soak overnight 

  • The cap and under the seals must also be cleaned. 

Charge/Battery issues 

Never accepted charge / First time charging 

Would charge previously, but won't anymore 

Doesn't indicate it is charging when plugged in 

Charge doesn't last 

  • The Charging block needs to be a 5V/2A, USB-A to USB-C.  

  • Have you tried different chargers or cables? 

  • Are you plugging into a wall outlet or using a power strip/extension? Do not use a power strip or extension, please plug directly into the wall outlet. 

Indicates it's charged or charging but won't turn on 

Only will work if plugged in 

  • May be a defect 

Sound Issues / Unusual Noise 

Constantly Beeping 

  • How has your bottle been washed? Cannot be put in the dishwasher 

  • has the generator (bottom piece) gotten wet?This will cause it to beep constantly 

Hissing sound during a cycle 

  • It is completely normal to hear a faint hissing sound or a slight leak, this indicates the release of unused oxygen. If you still feel as though your device is defective, please upload a video. 

Doesn't make a pressure release sound when opening 

  • Hydrogen levels are not affected by a pressure release sound. We have made some changes to the design of our bottle, to better explain your bottle, please select one of the following options so we can inform you" 

  • It never made a sound: The pressure release valve was redesigned to more efficiently release the oxygen, so you will no longer hear the 'pop' noise when opening after a cycle. Your device has successful oxygen expulsion. If you still feel as though your device is defective, please upload a video 

  • It used to make this sound, but no longer does anymore: This pressure-release sound is expected to decrease over time/use, indicating successful oxygen expulsion. Hydrogen levels are not affected. Your device has successful oxygen expulsion. If you still feel as though your device is defective, please upload a video 

 Material 

Why is it made of plastic? 

  • The main reason we chose Tritan Plastic for the bottles is because glass bottles are prone to break during the pressurization process that occurs during hydrogenation; it cannot withstand the amount of pressure our bottles need in order to receive the high PPM levels. it is also lighter and more resistant to impact compared to glass, making it easier and safer to carry around without worrying about drops or cracks. 

What is Tritan Plastic? 

Echo Water uses tritan plastic with the Echo Go+. Tritan is not only BPA-free, but it is not manufactured with bisphenol-S or any other bisphenol compounds. In addition, third-party labs tested Tritan, and the results showed it is free of estrogenic and androgenic activity. 

Size 

Why are the bottles so small? 

These bottles are specially designed to give you a concentrated dose of hydrogen, giving you the therapeutic benefits with just 1-3 bottles a day! You do not need all your drinking water to come from these bottles, although you can! 

Benefits/Side effects 

I haven’t noticed any benefits from drinking it 

Everyone is different! - Someone who is typically healthy may not see noticeable changes for months whereas someone who may have oxidative stress/inflammatory or gut issues may see a difference within 72 hours. 

I have started not feeling well since drinking it 

Some individuals notice the effects of detoxification when first using hydrogen-enriched water - the body is adjusting to this change. This is because hydrogen water eliminates particles from your blood and lungs. This is a sign it is working! Detox effects should improve within a couple of weeks.
