The Echo Clean relies on chlorine to produce hypochlorous acid or sodium hypochlorite, which are essential for its cleaning and disinfecting capabilities. If your water does not contain chlorine you may follow these instructions to ensure optimal results!
Materials Needed:
- Chlorine Tablets (commonly used for above-ground pools)
- Chlorine Test Strips (for measuring chlorine levels)
- A clean container that can hold 5 gallons of water
- Echo Clean bottle and solution preparation instructions
Procedure:
-
Dissolve Chlorine Tablet:
- Take half of a chlorine tablet (designed for above-ground pools).
- Place the half tablet in a clean container holding 5 gallons of water.
- Stir the water gently to help the tablet dissolve completely.
-
Test the Chlorine Concentration:
- After dissolving the tablet, use a chlorine test strip to check the concentration of chlorine in the water.
- Ensure that the chlorine level is between 0.5 to 2.0 ppm (parts per million). This range is ideal for the Echo Clean system.
-
Adjust if Necessary:
- If the chlorine concentration is below 0.5 ppm, you may need to dissolve a little more of the chlorine tablet.
- If the chlorine concentration is above 2.0 ppm, dilute the solution with more water until the desired range is reached.
-
Prepare Echo Clean Solution:
- Once the chlorine concentration is in the correct range, add the chlorinated water to your Echo Clean bottle.
- Follow the solution preparation directions provided with your Echo Clean system for optimal performance.
Safety Precautions:
- Always wear gloves when handling chlorine tablets and chlorinated water.
- Store chlorine tablets in a dry and cool place out of reach of children and pets.
- Ensure that the area is well-ventilated when dissolving chlorine tablets.
