Tax-Exempt Orders: What You Need to Know

We understand that some of our customers may qualify for tax-exempt purchases. To ensure a smooth ordering experience, here’s a quick guide on how to make sure your order is processed correctly if you qualify for tax exemption.

🧾 Submitting Tax-Exempt Documentation

If you are eligible for tax exemption (e.g., government agencies, non-profits, resellers, etc.), we’re happy to help you process your order without sales tax — as long as the proper steps are followed:

  1. Contact Us Before Placing Your Order
It’s essential that you reach out to us before placing your order. This allows us time to verify your exemption status and properly mark your account as tax-exempt.
  2. Provide Valid Documentation
You’ll need to submit accredited and valid tax-exemption documentation. This usually includes:

    • A state-issued tax exemption certificate
    • Any relevant supporting paperwork specific to your exemption status

Please ensure all documents are up to date and clearly show your exemption eligibility in your state.

⚠️ Orders Already Placed with Tax Included

If you’ve already placed your order and were charged sales tax, please note:

  • Once the order is placed, the sales tax collected is automatically submitted directly to your state’s tax authority.
  • Because of this, we are not able to refund tax amounts after an order is processed, as those funds are no longer in our possession.

🏛️ Requesting a Tax Refund from Your State

If you need to recover the tax paid on an order, you may be able to request a refund directly through your state’s tax agency.

Please contact your state's Tax Commission or visit their website for guidance on filing a refund claim for sales tax paid on a tax-exempt purchase.

Summary

  • Contact us before placing an order to apply your tax exemption.
  • Provide valid exemption documentation.
  • We cannot refund sales tax after an order is placed.
  • Refunds for post-purchase sales tax may be possible through your state tax authority.
