Microclustering: Myth vs. Reality

The idea of "microclustering," which suggests that water molecules form smaller, more absorbable groups during electrolysis, has been scientifically debunked. Popularized in the 1980s, this concept was disproven by extensive research. Water molecules naturally form hydrogen bonds and clusters, but these clusters are dynamic and change within picoseconds, regardless of any treatment.

While some companies continue to promote the idea of microclustering, there is no credible scientific evidence supporting its existence or benefits. The increased bioavailability of molecular hydrogen (H₂) in hydrogen-rich water is due to its small molecular size and solubility, not changes to water clusters.

Why Cleaning Matters in Traditional Alkaline Machines

In traditional electrolysis, molecular hydrogen is produced at the cathode. However, calcium and other minerals often coat the cathode over time, which reduces the ability of hydrogen gas to dissolve into the water. Larger bubbles form, making the hydrogen less effective. This is why other alkaline water machines require frequent cleaning with citric acid to remove mineral buildup and maintain performance.

The Advantage of the Echo Water Products

Echo Water Products features a patented technology that swaps the polarity of the electrodes (cathode and anode) with every use of the water chamber (excluding the Echo Go and Pitcher, which incorporate a self-cleaning mode). This unique design prevents calcium and other minerals from bonding to the cathode, eliminating the need for constant cleaning.

Every Echo Product will include proper cleaning methods and timeframes in the user manual. All user manuals are located here on our website by searching the product name in the support portal.

This innovation ensures consistent hydrogen production with minimal maintenance, offering a significant advantage over traditional alkaline water machines. With Echo, you get reliability, efficiency, and convenience all in one!
