If you ordered our Echo Pure packages, these have the option to come with our Echo Water Softener. Your Carbon Filter will be installed prior to the Water Softener to filter our the Carbon, but any filters will be placed after the Water Softener.
We Typically install the water softener first because it handles the "heavy lifting" by removing minerals like calcium and magnesium that cause hard water. By softening the water before it reaches your filtration system, you're helping to:
-
Reduce scale buildup that could otherwise clog or wear down your filters
-
Extend the life of your filters by preventing them from being overloaded with hardness minerals
-
Improve overall system performance by allowing the filters to focus on removing contaminants, odors, and chemicals—not hardness
In short, placing the softener first protects and enhances the efficiency of your entire water treatment setup.
If you ordered our more enhanced version of a water softener, this will be placed prior to any other filters.
