IMPORTANT NOTICE

Your Echo Flask™ may arrive with a small amount of distilled waterthis is intentional! It’s part of the design to ensure optimal performance.

If your Echo Flask™ arrives dry, NO WORRIES! It will simply require a 48-hour rehydration period. Fill the bottle with warm, non-chlorinated water and let the internal membranes absorb moisture fully. During this time, you may notice the bubbles transitioning from sporadic large bubbles to a fine mist—this is entirely normal!

NOTE: It may take up to a week of consistently running cycles to get your Flask to achieve a steady flow of bubbles and proper pressurization. If more than a week has passed and your bottle still has trouble producing bubbles or pressurizing, please contact our customer service team at support@echowater.com for more help.

Noticing a hum, crackle, or little hiss from your Echo Flask™? No worries at all—it might sound surprising at first, but it’s all part of the magic in action! Let’s walk through what’s normal and what to look out for, just to give you peace of mind.

Understand the Electrolysis Process

Your Echo Flask™ creates hydrogen-enriched water through a process called electrolysis. This sends an electrical current through the water to separate hydrogen (H₂) from oxygen (O₂)—a safe and efficient way to deliver all the health benefits of molecular hydrogen.

As the flask runs, it’s completely normal to hear:

  • A gentle hum
  • A sizzling or crackling sound
  • A light ticking noise
  • The sound may vary during the cycle or with continued use (that's totally ok!) Factors such as the hydration of your PEM, water temperature, or even water type can influence the sound. You may even notice your flask sounds different after use- all are entirely expected and a sign of a healthy generator.

These sounds are simply the result of electrolysis in action and are expected while the flask is working.

INITIAL SETUP: REHYDRATION

Your Echo Flask™ may arrive with a small amount of distilled waterthis is intentional! It’s part of the design to ensure optimal performance.

If your Echo Flask™ arrives dry, NO WORRIES! It will simply require a 48-hour rehydration period. Fill the bottle with non-chlorinated water and let the internal membranes absorb moisture fully. During this time, you may notice the bubbles transitioning from sporadic large bubbles to a fine mist—this is entirely normal!

It may take up to a week of consistently running cycles to get your Flask to achieve a steady flow of bubbles and proper pressurization. If more than a week has passed and your bottle still has trouble producing bubbles or pressurizing, please contact our customer service team at support@echowater.com for more help.

Step 1: Initial Setup & Quick Guide

  1. Fill the bottle with warm, filtered water.
  2. Secure the cap before starting a cycle (ensure the lid is securely tightened, with the logo positioned perpendicular or horizontal to the flask). You may feel some resistance in the lid when closing; however, you must continue to twist until you hear a "click." This will ensure the lid is in position.
NOTE: The lid on your flask features a unique design that’s a little different from the traditional screw or threaded lids. Instead, it features tabs inside—kind of like a pressure cooker—that “lock” into place as pressure builds up.
  3. Run a 10 or 20-minute hydrogen cycle.
  4. Before opening your flask, always release the pressure first! Find the top of the cap, look for the spot marked with a circle, and press straight down on that area. Pressing the middle or the opposite side will not release the pressure correctly.
  5. When the pressure releases, you may hear anything from a faint hiss to a louder pop—both are normal! You should also see bubbles rising to the top, which confirms pressurization.
NOTE: See Pressurization troubleshooting if you do not hear a pressurization release.
  6. Discard the water & rinse the flask with filtered water. It's now ready for your first hydrogen cycle!

Step 2: Accelerate Hydrogenation (if needed)

If your flask doesn’t produce enough bubbles initially, don't worry! This can happen if it is new, hasn’t been used for a while, or has become a little dry and needs rehydration.

  1. Soak the bottle membranes (inside of the bottle) in hot water overnight. Never fully submerge your bottle in water.
  2. Run a cleaning cycle, discard the water, and refill with filtered water.
  3. Your Echo Flask™ will then be fully primed for peak performance!

It may take up to a week of regular use to fully rehydrate the electrode and achieve a consistent bubble flow. If you see progress, this means your Flask is working properly.

  • Retains therapeutic hydrogen levels for up to 24 hours, but the concentration gradually decreases over time.
  • Do not microwave, refrigerate, or freeze the Echo Flask™.

Open Glass

  • Retains hydrogen for up to 2 hours in an open, unsealed container.
  • Tip: Immediate consumption ensures the highest hydrogen concentration.

Water Bottle

  • A sealed, insulated water bottle retains hydrogen for 2–5 hours, even when periodically opened.
  • The highest concentration occurs within the first 2 hours.

Sealed Container

  • A full, sealed, airtight container slows hydrogen loss, decreasing by approximately 0.1 ppm per day.
  • Hydrogen water stored in this manner remains effective for up to 2 weeks, depending on the initial ppm concentration.

Note: Avoid storing hydrogen water in copper containers. Copper reacts with hydrogen, reducing its effectiveness and benefits.

Guidelines for Using Hydrogen Water with Cold Water, Heat, and Additives

Cold Water

  • Adding ice to hydrogen water is perfectly fine and does not significantly impact its hydrogen content.
  • Temperature Effects: Cool water helps keep hydrogen dissolved for a longer period, but excessive stirring or pouring may cause hydrogen to escape.
  • Do not microwave, refrigerate, or freeze the Echo Flask™.

Heating Water

  • Use warmed, non-boiling, filtered water in your Echo Flask™, ensuring it is plain water without additives.
  • For Hot Beverages (e.g., coffee or tea):
    1. Hydrogenate the water first.
    2. Heat the water after hydrogenation.
    3. Mix or steep in a separate container.
  • Heat Effects: Heating may slightly reduce hydrogen levels, but the therapeutic benefits remain.

Additives

  • Never add supplements, minerals, or flavorings directly to the Echo Flask. It is designed to work exclusively with standard, non-carbonated water.
  • Mix in Another Container: Hydrogenate the water in a separate container before adding flavors, minerals, or supplements.
  • Tip: Adding supplements may displace some hydrogen molecules, so a slight increase in water intake may be necessary to achieve the same benefits.

  • Enhanced hydrogen generation functionality.

NOTE: It may take up to a week of consistently running cycles to get your Flask to achieve a steady flow of bubbles and proper pressurization. If more than a week has passed and your bottle continues to have trouble producing bubbles or pressurizing, please contact our customer service team at support@echowater.com for further assistance.

➡️ Troubleshooting: Leaks

Overfilling

  • Avoid overfilling the bottle. Only fill to the top of the bottle's shoulder (no liquid should be visible in the spout).
  •  Overfilling may cause spills or leaks, especially during the hydrogen generation process.

Leaks from Generator (Base):

  • If a drip is observed from the small hole (oxygen port) near the serial number on the bottom:
    1. Release any pressure within the flask.
    2. Place the bottle upright to allow trapped water to drain out.
    3. A leak from this area may occur if the bottle has been jostled or too much pressure has been built in the flask, causing water to trap near the oxygen port. Once drained, the leaks should stop.
Note: This type of leak does not affect the bottle's performance. After draining, the bottle should function normally.

Leaks from Lid and/or Cap:

  • Initial Leak: This may occur when the membrane is dry or idle for an extended period. Run several cycles to resolve.
  • Ensure the cap is fully in position. You may feel some resistance in the lid; however, continue twisting until you hear a click.
  • Pressure: Please ensure the pressure is released right after every cycle. If it is not, pressure will build up and may cause the bottle to leak.
  • Gasket: Check and clean the gasket on the lid. If necessary, use tweezers to remove it and examine it.

➡️ Troubleshooting: Battery, Charging, and/or Power Issues

Battery not charging

  • Defective cable
    • If necessary, check and replace the USB-C to USB-C cable.
    • Any aftermarket cable is compatible.
  • Improper connection: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to the generator and the charging block.
  • Faulty outlet:
    • Plug the charging block into a different wall outlet.
    • Avoid using power strips or alternate power sources.

Battery Dying Quickly

  • Battery Capacity: Your Echo Flask is designed to run up to 5-7 10-minute cycles on a single full charge. Even after receiving the "Low Battery" advisory, you should still be able to complete
1-2 more full cycles before needing to recharge.
  • Battery Usage & Syncing: If you frequently pair and sync your Flask with the Echo Water App, the battery may drain faster than usual.

  • Charging Recommendations: Allow a minimum of 2.5 hours for a full charge to ensure optimal performance. While your Flask may indicate a full battery sooner, charging for the entire duration helps consistently maintain the battery average.

Damaged Charging Port or Accessories

  • Inspect the charging port and accessories for visible damage.
  • Contact Echo Support if needed.

Charging Stops Intermittently

  • Loose connection: Ensure the USB-C cable is firmly connected to the generator and charging block.
  • Overheating: Unplug the device and allow it to cool before resuming charging.

Battery Not Charging

  • Defective cable
    • If necessary, check and replace the USB-C to USB-C cable. You may also use a USB-A to USB-C charger.

Damaged Charging Port or Accessories

  • Inspect the charging port and accessories for visible damage.
  • Contact Echo Support if needed.

➡️  Troubleshooting: Pressurization

Step 1: Check the Lid Alignment

Make sure the lid is aligned correctly and locked into place.

  • Tighten the lid firmly until the Echo logo is positioned perpendicular or horizontal to the flask.
  • You may feel slight resistance—keep twisting until you hear or feel a “click.”
  • To release pressure, press down on the area marked with a circle.
    • Pressing the center or opposite side will not release pressure properly.
  • A faint hiss or loud “pop” are both normal. If there’s no sound at all and pressed immediately after the cycle, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Inspect the Gasket

Check the gasket for any issues that might prevent proper sealing.

  • Remove the gasket from the lid and inspect it for:
    • Compression
    • Debris or dirt
    • Sticking or improper placement
  • Rinse and clean the gasket thoroughly.
  • When reinserting:
    • Ensure the indented side faces inward. A backward gasket will prevent a proper seal.
  • Tighten the lid as instructed in step 1 and run a test cycle.
  • If you still don’t hear a release sound, continue to Step 3.

If your Echo Flask™ is still not building pressure after completing all the steps above, the lid may need to be replaced. Just let us know and we will get one on its way ASAP!

➡️ Troubleshooting: Sound During the Hydrogenation Cycle

Sound from Lid and/or Cap:

  • The Echo Flask™ cap is designed with a built-in pressure release valve that helps manage pressure buildup during the hydrogenation process. It’s completely normal to hear air escaping from the cap while the cycle is running, as the valve releases excess pressure. The sound may be more pronounced if water or debris is trapped in the cap's crevices; this is not a defect and does not affect the PPM concentration of your hydrogen water.

Why Does the Cap Make Noise?

    • Louder Sound at First?
      • The valve may be a bit more rigid when new, but don’t worry—it will soften over time with regular use, and the noise should decrease.
    • Sound Variation Between Cycles?
      • The amount of sound you hear can vary depending on how much pressure is released during each cycle. If it sounds different from time to time, that’s expected.
    • Hearing a "Leaking" Sound?
      • This is likely just water trapped inside the cap or seal, which can happen if:
        • The flask is filled to the top of the spout
        • Water enters the cap from submersion or spills
      • This does not affect the PPM concentration.

    How to Fix It

    • Simply remove the cap when not in use to allow any trapped moisture to dissipate.
    • This will prevent any unexpected sounds during future use.

Sound from the Base or Generator

  • The Echo Flask™ produces hydrogen-enriched water through a process called electrolysis. This involves sending an electrical current through the water to separate hydrogen from oxygen. It's a safe and efficient method that allows your flask to infuse your water with beneficial molecular hydrogen.

Hearing a gentle hum, sizzling or crackling, or even a light ticking sound is entirely normal during this process. These sounds are simply the byproduct of electrolysis in action, and as long as the flask is producing hydrogen (bubbles), your flask is working as intended.

  • The Echo Flask™ is equipped with a built-in oxygen port (a small hole located by the serial # on the bottom of your flask) that releases excess oxygen during the hydrogenation process. It’s completely normal to hear air escaping from this port while the cycle is running. If there’s water or debris in the port, the sound may resemble a leaking, crackle, or even a light ticking noise. As long as the flask is producing hydrogen (bubbles), these sounds are perfectly normal.

➡️ Troubleshooting: Miscellaneous

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The flask is not turning on. The battery is low or depleted - Charge the flask using the provided USB-C cable.
- Check for moisture or debris in the charging port and allow it to dry if needed.
The display will not wake (black screen). Potential charging or power loss - Plug in the flask and attempt to wake the display. This often resolves the issue quickly.
- If the battery is low, leave the flask plugged in for a short time to regain functionality.
- If the issue persists, contact Echo Support.
Bluetooth is not pairing. Bluetooth is off, interference is present, or a firmware upgrade may be needed. - Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Activate pairing mode on your flask by pressing the Bluetooth button on the touch screen.
The lid is difficult to open. The lid's tabbed design is unfamiliar, or pressure is not released. - Press the pressure release indent on the lid until you hear the pressure escape.
- Push down gently and twist the lid counter-clockwise to unlock.
- Over time, the lid will become easier to remove as it breaks in.
The lid pops off during hydrogenation. The lid had not been adequately secured before running a hydrogenation cycle.

- Apply downward pressure while twisting the lid to close it to the right.

- Ensure the logo is parallel or perpendicular to the flask for a proper seal. You may feel some resistance in the lid; however, you must continue to twist until you hear a "click." This will ensure the lid is in position.

The lid pops off when opening and/or makes a loud "POP." The pressure was not released before attempting to open the flask after a hydrogen cycle.
  • Before opening your flask, always release the pressure first! Find the top of the cap, look for the spot marked with a circle, and press straight down on that area. Pressing the middle or the opposite side will not release the pressure correctly.
The hydrogenation cycle stops prematurely. Overuse or overheating of the generator or your flask may need to be charged.

- Plug your flask in.
- Let the flask cool down for 10–15 minutes before starting another cycle.
- Avoid running more than two consecutive 10-minute cycles.

Unusual taste or odor. Water that contains minerals and/or contaminants or your flask may need cleaning. - Follow the Deep Cleaning & Descaling instructions under this manual's Cleaning and Maintenance section.
- Use a different water source, such as RO or distilled water, without minerals added.
Note: Taste and odors are not covered under warranty.
Mildew or mold is present. Improper cleaning or moisture retention. - Follow the Deep Cleaning & Descaling instructions under this manual's Cleaning and Maintenance section.
Note: Mildew or mold is not covered under warranty.
Flickering Lights. Water has entered the charging port, causing circuit damage, or a firmware upgrade may be needed. - Please contact Echo Support for more help.
